Burundi
A child was killed and at least 30 people were wounded on Monday following a grenade attack in Burundi’s capital city Bujumbura.
The attack follows other blasts that was reported at a military base in the city on Sunday.
“We do not know what is going on but it is clear they want to terrorize us. I heard three grenade explosions and here, near the central roundabout, there were several wounded,” said one witness, who asked not to be named.
According to eyewitnesses, three grenades were tossed by a man on a motorcycle.
Government, opposition parties and security forces blame each other for the “terrorist attacks” that have multiplied since the beginning of the crisis.
The country plunged into a deep political crisis since the end of April 2015 following the announcement by the country’s president that he would be seeking a third term.
